Description
This print depicts a snowy village scene in St-Urbain, Quebec. It is a print produced from an original oil on canvas by Albert Henry Robinson ca. 1927. Robinsons mission was to depict the cheerful life of the people of Quebec at work and at play, coming and going in their small villages and towns. The print is double matted with a white top mat and black trim, framed in a dark brown frame with silver undertones.
About the artist: Albert H Robinson was born Jan. 2, 1881 and was a Canadian landscape painter, an invited contributor to the first Group of Seven exhibition in 1920, as well as a founding member of the Beaver Hall Group in 1920 and the Canadian Group of Painters in 1933. He was born in Hamilton, ON and studied at the Hamilton School of Art. Albert passed away September 7, 1956
