Helen Flint’s dynamic, colorful art, prints and posters are avidly collected by motor sports enthusiasts world wide. Preparation and research are the hallmarks of her work. Spending countless hours developing and refining the story line these exquisitely detailed, photo realistic images of classic vehicles in nostalgic settings are a high point celebration of a uniquely American vision of sleek lines, high gloss paint and glistening chrome. Flint works primarily in digital form, though she believes it is important to continue to paint in the traditional manner. “Staying involved with the organic qualities of paint is essential to my skill”, she stresses. “It keeps me grounded to the real foundations of art”. Before beginning a piece, and following her research, Flint renders sections of her digital paintings in separate files, piecing together her final art, prints and posters. The process is part organic and part digital, using basic resources and painting technique with digital effects from the computer.
About the Print: Titled “Mickey’s Diner” this print is a reproduction of an original digital painting created by Helen Flint. Featured are two vintage hot rod’s out front of the iconic Mickey’s Diner lit by it’s neon signs at night. Mickey’s is a nationally recognized historic building, located in downtown Saint Paul, Minnesota. It has been in continuous operation at the same location since 1939. Designed to resemble a railroad dining car, the prefabricated building was constructed in 1937 by the Jerry O’Mahony Diner Company. Thery print is framed with a white top mat and 2” flat black frame.
