The Airway of Heroes

Highway of Heroes

Canadians gather on a Hwy 401 overpass to show their support for a fallen soldier.

Chances are good that if you’re reading this while living in Canada, you’ve heard of the Highway of Heroes- a section of the 401 that directly connects us from Windsor to Quebec City, and often serves as the route home for fallen members of the Canadian forces.

Over the past two years, Funding Innovation- in conjunction with Support Our Troops- has been partnering with a number of airports to build a coordinated network of support. This “Airway of Heroes” is intended to raise funds for Support Our Troops through participation in our Art Easel Program.

Airway of Heroes

There are now 13 international and regional airports from coast-to-coast that have come on board. They collectively host 48 easels. These airports include – Prince George, Kamloops, Comox, Kelowna, Victoria, Abbotsford, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, Moncton, Saint John, Halifax and Hamilton.

Over $350,000.00  has been raised through the Funding Innovation/Support Our Troops Art Easel Program and that number is growing fast.

Support Our Troops is the official charitable cause of the Canadian Armed Forces and is administered by Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services. The women and men who serve Canada face unique challenges- and so do their families. The funds raised help our men and women in uniform to feel the same pride, courage and dignity at home as they do serving on our front lines.

Our Art Easel Program is designed to provide charitable and humanitarian organizations, such as Support Our Troops, with a zero-risk, long term, sustainable source of funding. Individuals can purchase beautiful art pieces and sports or music collectibles and support a worthy cause at the same time.

The Airway of Heroes will now give visitors at some of Canada’s international and regional airports the opportunity to become involved in the program. No matter where you live in Canada, Funding Innovation can ship the successful bidder’s purchase to you. For example, you can place your bid in British Columbia and have your art piece delivered to St. John’s.

So, next time you’re waiting to catch a flight, we encourage you to seek out a Funding Innovation Art Easel and place a bid! Join us in our efforts to raise funds for Support Our Troops and show our Canadian Forces members just how much we appreciate all they do.

Thank you for your continued support of our Art Easel Program. This little easel changes lives!
