Description
Titled “Evening on the North Shore” this reproduction print was originally an oil on canvas created by Clarence Gagnon ca. 1924. The north shore of the St. Lawrence River near Baie-Saint-Paul in Charlevoix County was a primary source of pictorial inspiration for Gagnon. This view across the bay at once highlights the beauty of a still relatively untouched natural environment and, by including in the foreground the picturesque traditional houses, the strong bonds between the land and its inhabitants. The print is triple matted with a white top mat, dark brown and black trim framed in a concaved 2” dark brown moulding with silver highlights and a silver lip.
